  • Thanks to its 19th century prison of the Pennsylvannian style, Guingamp owns a rare and original heritage.
    Original because this prison was one of the first prisons to detain prisoners in individual cells. This prison obeyed to the two systems of confinement devised by 18th century philosophers after the Revolution : partial or total isolation.
    Rare because it is the only prison in its kind in Europe, preserved in its original state.
